Buffet Philosophy

Sunday, July 8, 2007

When you go to a buffet, the nature of the restaurant presents you with a wide range of different foods you can eat. In the past, I would survey all the dishes and grab as much variety as possible. That, after all is the appeal of a buffet isn’t it? I realized that this technique filled my stomach with a lot of food that I didn’t really enjoy but that I just ate because it was there.

A new philosophy: eating only items that you really like to eat! How about just grabbing plates of one or two items that you really like, and eliminating the items that are mediocre and are the ‘in-betweens’ of the foods you actually like. You’ll get full on the foods that you like and you’ll feel like you got your money’s worth much more.

Granted the quality of food at buffet is already not very good, at least this way we can grab only the ‘best’ for our 20 dollars. Eat up!
