This entry comes courtesy of Phoebe (Yeah, I named my powerbook too). So one of the benefits of having a mobile computer is being able to double your laziness by watching television at the same time.
Currently I am watching a wine tasting television program. It’s a strange experience because it it basically consists of two hosts talking about wine, inter cut with shots of the audience picking up glasses and shoving their noses in it. I don’t know much about wine, and I’m not a big drinker, but I would definately want to go on this show, especially if it was all free.
The host would fill me in on some technical mumbo jumbo on how the grapes were grown and why that method makes this particular shiraz so good and then prompt me to swirl the contents of my glass and then throw it in my mouth.
Interestingly enough, wine does contain alcohol, and this fact became apparent as the show went on. The two hosts on average would down a few gulps of wine every minute and a half and it was amusing seeing how their demeanor deteriorated. The beginning of the show had them sitting upright, speaking clearly and towards the end the dude was slouching in his seat, face slightly pink and made comments out of cue.
On second thought, I think I only watched the whole half hour because I was looking for the guy in the audience that was there just for the free alcohol, one of my friends perhaps.
