My sister was back in town this weekend, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to take my whole family out for a nice dinner since it had been a while we ate together. I initially suggest dining at the ever so classy red lobster, but Jess expressed that that place basically has one flavour - salty. My mom heard of this new japanese restaurant up north and suggested that we eat there though cautioning that the place was a tad pricey. Knowing that I could afford it as well as wanting the best for my family, I agreed and reservations were made.
Upon arriving, a large crowd could be seen outside the restaurant evidently waiting for a table. I proudly walked through the people knowing full well there would be a table waiting for us. The restaurant turned out to be a China Buffet King style buffet, that is, you get up from your seat and harvest what you think might be tasty and retreat back to your table to enjoy “consumption of mass quantities”. Assorted fried meats, fried rice and noodles would have you leave your seat while traditional japanese food, sushi, sashimi would have to be ordered.
I though: “Okay, this might be nice. We order the japanese food and while we’re waiting we can load up on salad, soup, meat skewers etc.” Enough set up, when I received the check for the meal, I asked to speak with the manager. Here’s what happened next when he came to our table:
